Perio Therapy
Periodontal disease, an infection of the supportive tissues of the mouth also known as gum disease or gingivitis, is caused by the toxic bacteria found in plaque. This disease can result in tooth loss, breakdown of the soft tissues in the mouth and other significant problems. Our team can evaluate your periodontal health and, if needed, help you make a decision on the appropriate treatments to restore the health of your gums and supportive tissues.
Nightguard
Serious strain can be put on the structures of your teeth through gritting and clenching your teeth at night. The effect of this strain can be chipped, cracked or even broken teeth, and the next day you may experience pain in your jaw and headaches. A custom-crafted nightguard can help eliminate these issues.
Also, if you have had your smile made over with veneers, crowns or bridges, we may have you wear a nightguard to protect your smile.
Root Canal
You may need a root canal if the nerve tissue of your tooth has been severely damaged. Compared to the pain and discomfort you may feel before the procedure, most root canals are minimally uncomfortable, despite what you may have heard. A root canal includes the removal of the soft tissue within the tooth, or the pulp, and then filling the space with an inert material. The procedure is then finished off with a filling, or in some cases, a crown. The latest dental technology means your root canal is more effective and takes less time.
Tooth Extraction
Every effort is made to keep all your teeth, as it is always the best and preferred solution. In the instance that a tooth cannot be saved, it may be recommended to extract the tooth. This extraction can be done here in our office instead of referred to a specialist in the area.
Sleep Apnea Appliances
If you or a loved one snores, you are likely aware that snoring can greatly interfere with sleep. Severe snoring could also be an indication of a more serious condition such as sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a disorder that involves interrupted breathing for an extended period of time during sleep. This may happen one or hundreds of times throughout the night, lasting from a few seconds to minutes. There are a wide variety of treatment options including lifestyle changes, mouthpieces, breathing devices or, as a last resort, surgery. You can rest assured that Dr. Peer will select the right one to fit your needs. Then, you can finally get back to better sleep and better living.
Conscious Sedation
Extreme anxiety when visiting the dentist is a problem from which many people suffer. If this sounds like you, then conscious sedation may be the best option for you. A licensed, medical anesthesiologist comes to our office to perform your sedation and monitor your vital signs throughout the procedure. You won't be fully asleep, but you will have little or no recollection of the procedure. A friend or family member should pick you up after your appointment because you will be unable to drive when your procedure is complete
